Zebra Canyon is a 5.2 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Escalante, Utah that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips and is best used from April until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. Zebra Slot Canyon. Location: 16-miles East of Escalante. Length: 5-miles roundtrip. Difficulty: Moderate. This is a beautiful hike that has an amazing slot canyon at the end of the trail. The hike to the slot canyon has beautiful landscape views of Utah.

After Zebra, we drove around to the eastern side of the Escalante River drainage via the incredible Burr Trail Road which leads east from the town of Boulder through jaw-dropping canyon scenery. I’m not sure if I’ve ever driven a more scenic drive in the desert! Our destination was another slot canyon tributary of the Escalante.

I don't recommend hiking through it alone, because there is opportunity to fall and become dangerously lodged in the slot. While the zebra slot is interesting, I'm not sure it's worth the hike to get to it, unless you're visiting zebra slot simply as part of your overall excursion.
